London, UK and Cambridge, MA – May 9, 2012 – Quanticate, a leading global data-focused clinical research organization (CRO), today announced expansion of its capabilities in India with the opening of a new office in Bangalore, India.

“Expansion of our facility in India is in direct response to the requirements of our customers and the driving force that enabled us to significantly grow in this region,” explained Daniel Chapple, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Quanticate. “Research has shown that customers turn to Quanticate because of our experience, knowledge and the high quality that we offer. Now through this expansion, our customers will also benefit from even more cost effective offerings, particularly with the large-scale FSP’s that we have in place” said Chapple.

India, along with other lower cost locations, have become integral to the greater adoption of outsourcing approaches especially since price remains one key consideration in the decision making process. However, ensuring that the operational structure keeps overall costs at an optimal level when taking into account oversight, communication and quality control at both the CRO and customer side, is a critical element to successfully provide support and solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, device and nutrition industries.

Karen Oooms, Executive Vice President of Operations (Strategic Delivery) explains, “Quanticate has been careful in its approach to using lower cost regions and does so for more than the purpose of achieving more attractive labor rates due to the importance and cost of gaining the data. The employees that are working in all our sites are not only highly experienced but also have a focus on teamwork to ensure that the high quality deliverables and communication that Quanticate has a reputation for is not impacted. We anticipate that all our locations will continue to grow based upon the high sales growth that we experienced in the last two quarters and our healthy pipeline,” said Ooms. “This is an exciting time at Quanticate as we have recently launched our centralized data solution and we have been adding new expertise and technologies to support both our customers and our growing number of highly skilled statisticians, programmers, data managers, medical writers and pharmacovigilance experts.”

London, UK and Cambridge, MA –November 21, 2011 – Quanticate, a global biometrics clinical research organization (CRO), today announced that it has named Dr. Daniel Chapple as the company's Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. Reporting to Quanticate's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David Underwood, Chapple will work within Quanticate’s offices in Boston, MA and the UK.

Drawing from Chapple’s recent position as General Manager at Cognizant’s Life Sciences BPO practice, Quanticate will leverage his business development leadership and extensive knowledge of the clinical CRO space, including full service CROs, specialist BPOs and solutions expertise in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device sectors.

“Daniel’s customer-focused orientation, self-awareness, and strong business acumen skills make him a good fit as part of our executive management team,” said Underwood. “This is an exciting time at Quanticate as we are growing our operations in the US and India to support our teams already in place in the UK, Poland and South Africa. Daniel will help to streamline our approach to working across these regions to support our clients at the functional and task level due to his strong background.”

Through the use of technology coupled with highly skilled statisticians, programmers, data managers, medical writers and pharmacovigilance experts, Chapple will further focus the Centralized Clinical Data Sciences solution which will help leverage the data required to secure approvals and market new products. This approach supports the growing requirement of the life sciences industry to reduce timelines, minimize regulatory delays and reduce costs associated with the drug development process.

“Our team has incredible amounts of experience and many of our staff are recognized experts in the industry,” said Chapple. “As the expectations of regulatory bodies continue to rise, pharmaceutical companies are under intense pressure to optimize costs through increasing productivity, lowering internal costs and implementing strategic partnerships. It is not just about using the lowest cost people, it is also ensuring the overall drug development cost is optimal when taking into account productivity, over-sight and expertise. By providing faster access to data, developing more efficient study design approaches and offering complete data reviews across programs that may include many studies over many years, Quanticate plays a key role in supporting its clients.”

Prior to Quanticate, Chapple served in leadership positions at Cognizant, ICON Clinical Research and MDS Pharma Services

Quanticate is pleased to support the PSI conference this year: Katherine Hutchinson, as incoming chair of PSI for 2011, will be giving the after dinner speech and closing remarks. Katherine is joined by some of our statistical consultancy team at the conference, one of whom will be presenting a poster (Using a Propensity-Pairing Algorithm to Reduce Bias due to Imbalances in Covariates: A Case Study Pooling Data from 5 Kidney Transplant Trials). If you are attending the PSI conference this year, then Katherine and our statistical consultancy team would love to meet you!

PSI (Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry) was set up over 30 years ago to promote and lead statistical thinking in the Pharmaceutical industry. As a non-profit making organization with over 1000 members, it runs several training courses, one day meetings and a 3 day conference every year as well as providing support to the education sector. In addition, its own peer-reviewed journal, Pharmaceutical Statistics, has gained an impressive following in its 10 year existence. Such an organization requires support from its members to help with the day-to-day running of PSI. Quanticate has for many years provided such support – through committee member involvement (publications and training committees to name but two) and board level support (contracts, membership). Quanticate congratulates and wishes Katherine Hutchinson (Head of Consultancy at Quanticate) all the best in her role chairing PSI in the year ahead.
